About Us

The Baxi Partnership Trust was set up as an employee benefit trust (EBT) by Philip Baxendale and his cousin Joan Caselton in 1983 when they sold their gas-boiler manufacturing company to the trust for only one tenth of its value; a massive gift to the employees.

The aim of the EBT was to enable the employees of the boiler manufacturing company to keep the company independent and to share in the wealth they had helped to create.

Over the next 16 years the company grew to £200m sales and was highly productive and profitable.

The remaining £20m was used to develop the trust to become a platform which supported other companies to fulfil Philip Baxendale's vision:
"...that companies continue forever to be employee owned as professionally managed, dynamic, growing businesses, having regard always to the interests of the employees as people and as shareholders."

Today the interests of the trust are protected by both appointed and elected trustees.
